NewJeans’ Hanni’s disappearance from a recent group photo sparks concerns amidst HYBE-ADOR tussle

Fans were left extremely concerned about NewJeans’ Hanni’s disappearance from a recently posted group photo, especially in light of the ongoing conflict between HYBE Corporation and ADOR’s Min Hee Jin. 

Since September 25 was the date that NewJeans had set for them to address their grievances regarding HYBE’s management, fans got to work speculating. The members went on a livestream on a their new YouTube channel earlier in the month, on September 11, during which they affirmed their support for Min Hee Jin and emphasized her vital role in the group’s identity. Hanni courageously revealed on the show that a HYBE manager had allegedly urged members of another group to “ignore” her; this further highlighted the worsening dynamic between the members and management. Following their frank conversation, the members issued an ultimatum, requesting that HYBE reinstate Min Hee Jin as CEO of ADOR by September 25.

Since Min Hee Jin had not returned by the deadline, HYBE declared that her reinstatement was “impossible.” Additionally, Hanni used social media to express her opinions to her followers. She wrote, “Our Bunnies are really strong. We’re so lucky to have people like you by our side.”

Is the speculation true?

Though Hanni’s absence raised concerns, some of them were allayed when it was revealed by Xports News on September 26 that Hanni missed the group photo for health reasons. Nonetheless, rumors regarding the idol’s welfare and the general state of affairs at NewJeans arose due to the date of the photo’s distribution and her disappearance.

Meanwhile, Hanni recently attended Paris Fashion Week and joined BTS member Jin at the Gucci Women’s Summer/Spring 2025 presentation, where she made a stunning appearance.
