In a stunning step, NewJeans has formally served their label, ADOR, with a legal certificate of contents, requiring the company to resolve significant breaches of their exclusive contract within 14 days.
The NewJeans members, Kim Minji, Hanni Pham, Danielle Marsh, Kang Haerin, and Lee Hyein, sent the certificate under their legal names, stating their issues that they believe arise from ADOR’s improper handling of their contract, according to reports from K-media outlet Yonhap News on November 13, 2024. The document, which serves as a kind of legal notice, highlights that ADOR must make the necessary corrections or risk the contract being terminated.
The report purportedly contained a comment about plans to “throw away ‘New’ and start a whole new thing.” It was discovered during an audit. The organization claims that the management of HYBE, the parent business of NewJeans, has violated their contract and damaged their brand with this comment, which has caused a great deal of controversy.
NewJeans has made it plain that they are pursuing legal action against any unfounded reports about their families, even though the specifics of the infractions and the demands of the members are still confidential.
JoyNews24 quoted an official saying, “We have nothing to say, given that we have yet to receive the certificate of contents sent by NewJeans’ side.”
Later, Minji wrote, “Everything that happened to us will become a story to share with a smile someday. Echoing her fellow groupmates, Hyein updated her Weverse status to “Our strong bunnies.”
After this, some of the members spoke with fans and reassured them about their decision to take action against the label. In a letter to the fans, Danielle wished them luck on their impending South Korean college entrance exam and reassured them that the group was doing well.
