NewJeans (NJZ) encountered numerous issues post the infamous ADOR and HYBE clash. The parents of the members set up the @jeanz_pr Instagram account on January 31, 2025, in order to support and provide updates for Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. As NewJeans’ parents released a lengthy statement denouncing Korea’s major music organizations and HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk for attempting to cancel their 2025 ComplexCon Hong Kong concert, the dispute between NJZ and HYBE has intensified even more.
The group was accused of using public opinion and the National Assembly by five prominent Korean music organizations: the Korea Entertainment Management Association (KEMA), the Korea Entertainment Producers Association (KEPA), the Korea Music Label Industry Association (LIAK), the Korea Record Industry Association (RIAK), and the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA).
The parents of NewJeans contended that HYBE started the public feud by making unfounded allegations against former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. They disputed the assertion that these groups solely favor agencies and do not assist any artists. In the statement, as their parents emphasized how vulnerable artists and trainees were because they lacked a forum to air their complaints. Additionally, they asserted that on February 27, 2025, these five organizations planned a news conference. According to their statement, Bang Si Hyuk personally contacted prominent figures in the business to exert pressure on them to postpone NJZ’s planned ComplexCon performances. NJZ is scheduled to perform as the main act at ComplexCon Hong Kong, a global street fashion and pop culture festival, at the AsiaWorld-Expo on March 23, 2025, despite continuous conflict of interests.
According to Koreaboo report, ADOR retaliated, “ADOR has never attempted to obstruct NewJeans’ performance in Hong Kong.”
