The five members of K-pop group NewJeans have replied to the court’s verdict over restraining their independent activities beyond the HYBE team. On April 16, the Seoul Central District Court ruled out that Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein will perform only under the agency, according to a Yonhap News Agency report.

The members then braced to approach for promotions with the name NJZ, as proposed by their fans. Recently, as the group announced to publish a song at the Hong Kong Complex Con, the court again issue the prohibition. Nonetheless, the group decided perform their last show for time being.

NewJeans objected to the court’s previous ruling that the team could not sign advertising contracts without ADOR’s consent. The hearing, which lasted ten minutes, was convened to certify the same. The court has now declared that their injunction decision is “just” and will stand.

They then approached the Seoul High Court against the court’s ruling in favour of the agency. They intend to “let the facts get revealed” despite the ongoing conundrum. Recently, it was revealed that Hanni and Minji had relocated to Rome so that “no one would recognize” them.
