A guy recently sued Nicki Minaj, claiming that after a fight, the singer hit him in the face. According to reports, the Grammy-nominated performer is being sued for assault, violence, and “intentional infliction of emotional distress.”

According to Variety, Brandon Garrett stated that he oversaw Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 tour on a daily basis. After an altercation backstage on April 21 post performance at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, she hit Garrett several times.

Judd Burstein, the singer’s attorney, has refuted these claims in a statement, however, and also criticized a TMZ article.

Burstein claims that Minaj has not received a complaint, thus the legal staff is not aware of the accusations. Additionally, he insisted that “it is completely false and frivolous” if the case is as the outlet stated, and that the team is “confident” that the issue would be settled quickly in the artist’s favor.

According to the lawsuit, security chief Larry Dathan summoned Garrett to meet with Minaj. Garrett claimed that eight members of the artist’s staff, including Deb Antney, Dathan, and Luke Montgomery, Minaj’s former manager, were in the artist’s dressing area when he arrived.

When asked about his role, Montgomery listed his responsibilities, which included “dressing room setup, private jet setup, hotel room setup, quick change room refreshments, and tour bus setup,” according to the complaint.

These, however, were on top of “any requests from [Minaj] communicated by [Garrett], including food orders, drinks, personal items, baby items, and, most importantly, prescriptions.”

The musician got “visibly upset” and “angrily screamed” at Garret when he revealed that he had Montgomery handle the prescriptions because he was preoccupied with tour obligations and helping Minaj.

Minaj supposedly said, “Are you f**king crazy having him pick up my prescription?” and “If my husband was here, he would knock out your fucking teeth.”

According to the complaint, the artist also stated, “You just f***ed up your whole life, and you will never be anyone; I’ll make sure of it.” She began to rage at Montgomery, forcing him to “look through his phone” while she inquired about the precise day he had picked up his medicines.

Additionally, Minaj allegedly “got very close to his face” when Montgomery offered her his phone.

According to the complaint, “[Minaj] then struck [Garrett] open-handedly on the right side of his face, causing his head to swing backwards as his hat flew off his head.” Additionally, Garrett was struck by the vocalist on his right wrist, causing the area to “throb.”

Garrett claimed that after this incident, he had spent a considerable amount of time trapped in a bathroom.

Garrett made a police report by calling the Detroit Police Department when he was at the airport in Detroit. He was requested to come in person to a precinct office by the authorities. But “because he feared for his safety and did not know if his belongings had been removed or tampered with,” he had already made travel arrangements to return to Chicago and had called the Chicago Police Department to arrange for a police escort to his hotel.
