The creators have confirmed that this final chapter consists of eight episodes. They have also assured viewers that every major storyline, including the Demogorgons, the Mind Flayer and the ultimate fight for Hawkins, finds its conclusion in this last season.

Complete episode line-up and runtimes

The upcoming season opens with the episode titled ‘The Crawl’, followed by ‘The Vanishing of…’, a name partially withheld but widely believed to involve a nod to Holly Wheeler. The next two instalments are ‘The Turnbow Trap’ and ‘Sorcerer’, completing the first four-episode set.

Christmas Day continues the journey with ‘Shock Jock’, ‘Escape From Camazotz’, and ‘The Bridge’. The highly anticipated finale, ‘The Rightside Up’, will arrive on 31 December, accompanied by a special theatrical release in over 350 cinemas across the US and Canada. This last episode will be a cinematic two-hour event, giving fans a grand farewell to the world of Hawkins.

The first four episodes come with confirmed runtimes: the opening chapter runs for 1 hour 8 minutes, followed by 54 minutes, 1 hour 6 minutes, and 1 hour 23 minutes respectively. Further runtimes for Episodes 5, 6 and 7 will be revealed closer to their release.

The returning cast and the world of Hawkins one last time
