Fardeen Khan is all set for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming drama series Heeramandi. In the drama series, the actor will be seen as Wali Mohammed. Also, he will be seen romancing Sonakshi Sinha. For the unversed, Fardeen is busy promoting his most-awaited drama series, during one such promotional interview, he recalled the time he went to SLB’s office to ask him for work but got rejected

In a chat with Pinkvilla, Fardeen said, “You know I am going to narrate a story that I reminded Sanjay sir when I went to meet him for Wali Mohammed. I had gone to his office in the early 2000s to seek work. He met with me, we sat, we spoke for about 10-15 minutes. He said, ‘You know Fardeen I don’t think we can work because I don’t see that fire in your eyes.”

Further, he shared, “At that time of course it felt brutal and I told him this time that even if that sounded brutal at the time, that’s exactly what I wanted to hear, I needed to hear rather. I thanked him for it.”

Apart from Fardeen and Sonakshi Sinha, SLB’s drama series Heeramandi stars Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Sharmin Segal in the lead roles. The drama series is based on the lives of a set of courtesans in pre-independence India. It will be available to stream on Netflix from May 1 onwards.
