Padma Shri recipient and established Bhojpuri singer Sharda Sinha breathes her last at 72

Sharda Sinha, a well-known folk singer and Padma Shri recipient, was admitted to the hospital a few days ago. The 72-year-old was being treated at Delhi’s AIIMS Hospital while on a ventilator. Unfortunately, though, she passed away today on November 5. Her son, Anshuman Sinha, shared the devastating news on her official Instagram account.
Even though Sinha was known for singing several well-known folk tunes all year long, her voice could be heard over loudspeakers, particularly during this time of year when many people in the nation are commemorating the auspicious Chhath Puja.
However, regrettably, the celebrated artist departed for her celestial home on this day. Her son, Anshuman Sinha, announced her tragic death just minutes earlier. Sharda Sinha is no longer with us, he said, posting a photo of his mother on her Instagram account. The Goddess has called his mother, he wrote in Hindi.
The singer has been fighting a form of blood cancer called multiple myeloma since 2018, according to a report by Republic World. According to reports, Sharda Sinha remained in shock over her husband Brij Kishore Sinha’s unexpected death earlier this year.
Sinha, who was from Bihar, was well-known for singing Hindi, Bhojpuri, Maithili, and Magahi regional songs. She sang a few commercial songs, although she usually lends her voice to devotional songs. She also performed the song “Kahe Toh Se Sajna” from Salman Khan’s 1989 film Maine Pyar Kia. In addition, she has sung “Taar Bijli” from the album Gangs of Wasseypur by Anurag Kashyap.
In addition, she received credit for the songs Kaun Si Nagaria from the film Chaarfutiya Chhokare and Taar Bijli for Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur 2.
