The famous mythological serial Mahabharat is one of the most watched shows on Indian television and has a particular place in the hearts of its audience. The actress who played Draupadi, Pooja Sharma , recently shared a dramatic behind-the-scenes moment from filming the famous Cheer Haran sequence as the show commemorated its tenth anniversary since its inception.
Actress Pooja Sharma recently described how the fire started on the sets of Mahabharat as quoted by Pinkvilla, commemorating the show’s tenth anniversary.
Pooja stated, “There was a specific spot in the Sabha from where Draupadi’s dupatta was meant to appear. During the shoot, a transformer placed there suddenly burst into flames—twice.”
Unexpected events during the scene’s filming increased the tension on the set. Just as the camera was recording Krishna’s miraculous intervention: the set’s transformer failed, causing two strong explosions that started a fire.

The explosions added both real and symbolic fire to a scene that was already rich in spiritual and emotional meaning, intensifying the already intense atmosphere.
Pooja Sharma explained, “Throughout the entire filming of Mahabharat, I had never witnessed anything like this. It was as if an unseen, divine energy made its presence known, and in that moment, I felt a profound connection to something beyond the physical realm.”
Pooja also found resonance with Arav Chowdhary and Shaheer Sheikh, who asserted that a spiritual intervention occurred during the show’s production. Arav, who played Bhishma Pitamaha, said that they were able to film the performance despite unfavorable weather in several places because of Lord Krishna’s blessings. Arav even revealed how chaotic the show’s filming was.
The show starred Saurav Gurjar, Arpit Ranka, Pooja Sharma, Shaheer Sheikh, and Sourabh Raaj Jain in lead roles. The mythological show aired between 2013 and 2014.
