Pushpa 2 smashes massive records set by any Indian film; grosses Rs 190 cr on Day 1
Pushpa 2’s net business in India is close to Rs 155 crore, which is just unheard of.
The opening day records for an Indian film, held by Baahubali 2, have been easily surpassed by Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, which stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil. With Pushpa 2 grossing an astounding Rs 190 crore on its first day in India alone including the premiere revenue of about Rs 11 crore
Movies like KGF 2 and Baahubali 2 were able to reach the Rs 100 crore net club, although Pushpa 2 is about 35–40% better than both of them. The film’s box office receipts may be comparable to or marginally better than those of KGF 2, but they fall short of Baahubali 2, the most anticipated film event in Indian cinema history. Since Baahubali 2, the average cost of tickets has more than doubled.
North India | Rs 84 crore |
APTS | Rs 72.50 crore |
Karnataka | Rs 16.50 crore |
Tamil Nadu | Rs 10 crore |
Kerala | Rs 6.5 crore |
Total Earning | Rs 189.50 crore |
Audiences worldwide have responded favorably to Pushpa 2. In the days ahead, leggie marketplaces like the Hindi market will be driving the mass-actioner’s industry. The Allu Arjun-starring film is now the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. It will only take a short while for it to secure the title from Kalki in 2898 AD.
