Pushpa 2 smashes massive records set by any Indian film; grosses Rs 190 cr on Day 1

The opening day records for an Indian film, held by Baahubali 2, have been easily surpassed by Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, which stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil. Movies like KGF 2 and Baahubali 2 were able to reach the Rs 100 crore net club, although Pushpa 2 is about 35–40% better than both of them. The film’s box office receipts may be comparable to or marginally better than those of KGF 2, but they fall short of Baahubali 2, the most anticipated film event in Indian cinema history. Since Baahubali 2, the average cost of tickets has more than doubled.
