Rumors have been circulating since last week suggesting that Sukumar’s eagerly anticipated action movie Pushpa: The Rule has been postponed from its August 15 release date. The Pushpa sequel has been officially postponed, and Allu Arjun, the lead actor, has revealed the new release date.
Pushpa 2 delayed
Allu Arjun posted a new Pushpa 2: The Rule poster on his X account on Monday. His caption mentioned, “#Pushpa2TheRule in cinemas from December 6th, 2024.”
Since new films have allotted August 15 as their release date, fans have been curious about the status of Pushpa 2. Although Pushpa 2 was previously slated to compete with Nikkhil Advani’s action thriller Vedaa and Rohit Shetty’s Bollywood cop drama Singham Again, last week Puri Jagannadh’s sci-fi action picture Double iSmart and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein were added to the schedule. Subsequently, it was made clear that Jio Studios had rescheduled the release of Singham Again for Diwali and revealed that the horror comedy Stree 2 will now debut on August 15.
About Pushpa 1
In the first segment, Rashmika Mandanna played Allu Arjun’s love interest Srivalli, while Allu Arjun played the anti-hero Pushpa Raj. With his introduction at the conclusion of the first movie, Fahadh Faasil hinted at a considerably extended role in the sequel.
Pushpa’s opening scenes included power struggles against the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling. It was directed by Sukumar.
