Ramayana: Is Vivek Oberoi set to play an important role in Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial?

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, the most anticipated venture is now in production with Ranbir Kapoor and Yash already filming for their respective roles. Nonetheless, some of the cast members are yet to be finalised. As per earlier media reports, it is stated that Anil Kapoor and Vikrant Massey may be called on board soon for the roles of King Janaka and Prince Meghnad.
According to Pinkvilla, a source associated to the development has dropped some insights, however the confirmation is yet to be made.
In the hindsight, a new report mentioned that Vivek Oberoi is reportedly approached to play the role of Vidyutjihva, a demon prince belonging to the daitya tribe and the husband of Surpanakha, as portrayed by Rakul Preet Singh.
His character is also estimated to lock horns with Ravana played by Yash in a battleground.
Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev fame actor Mohit Raina is also reportedly touted to portray the role of Lord Shiva in the epic film.
About the film
The Indian mythology-inspired epic film features Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Lara Dutta in important roles. Recently, it was revealed that Kajal Aggarwal is estimated to portray Ravana’s wife, Mandodari.
The film will be out in two parts, while the first part will hit the theaters in Diwali 2026 and the second part in 2027.
Ranbir Kapoor has frequently been clicked in a clean-shaven look for the role of Lord Ram with Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita.
