YouTuber and influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, better known by his stage name BeerBiceps, is receiving a lot of negative feedback post his contentious comments on comedian Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent.
In just two days, Ranveer Allahbadia lost almost 142,000 followers on social media, per an analysis by the influencer marketing intelligence firm Qoruz. According to reports, he has lost 72,000 Instagram followers and 70,000 YouTube subscribers respectively. His audience is becoming increasingly dissatisfied, as evidenced by the drop in followers; many have denounced his comments and demanded accountability.
In relation to the dispute, Mumbai Police showed up at Allahbadia’s home on Tuesday. Furthermore, it has been stated that a parliamentary commission is thinking of calling him to discuss the matter.
Although some followers still stand by Ranveer, others have denounced his remarks, sparking intense debates on social media over the obligations of public individuals and influencers.
But Allahbadia has apologized in public, saying that he is not good at comedy. He said that his comment about the show wasn’t humorous. “I personally had a lapse in judgment; wasn’t cool on my part,” said the podcaster.
A lawsuit has also been brought against the show’s organizers, comedian Samay Raina, Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, social media personality Apoorva Mukhija, and Ranveer Allahbadia. Television and Bollywood celebrities have also criticized the comedians for their offensive comments.
