Ranveer Singh has always been a trialblazing artist, delivering massive hits over the years, the most recent one the 2023 romantic comedy Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. However, in the recent years, his films have been put on hold for multiple operational reasons.

The following is a list of Ranveer’s unfinished projects:

Baiju Bawra

For the past many years, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been Ranveer’s lucky charm. Fans were thus understandably thrilled when rumors began to circulate that SLB would be directing Ranveer and Alia in his musical drama Baiju Bawra. Unfortunately, Ranveer wasn’t involved in Sanjay’s thrilling announcement of an intriguing new movie with Alia, Love & War, which also stars Vicky Kaushal and Ranbir Kapoor. As a result, there were rumors that Baiju Bawra was canceled.

Shaktimaan

Ranveer was reportedly signed on for Shaktimaan, a revival of Mukesh Khanna’s adored TV show, shortly after it was rumored that Baiju Bawra would be delayed. News also broke about the intriguing project, including its enormous budget of ₹300–350 crore and the villainous role played by Tovino Thomas, an actor from Mental Murali. Mukesh has already voiced his disapproval of Ranveer’s casting. Ranveer even paid a visit to Mukesh’s office after a while.

Rakshas

It was announced in April of this year that Prasanth Varma, the director of Hanu-Man, and Ranveer were working on a movie tentatively titled Rakshas. In order to promote the movie with a picture session that same month, the actor even took a plane to Hyderabad. However, due to creative differences, Ranveer and the creators decided to part ways amicably in May, putting the project on hold. The actor and the director denied any falling out, saying they want to work together again soon on another movie.

Anniyan Remake

With producer Jayantilal Gada’s support, Kollywood filmmaker Shankar Shanmugham revealed back in 2021 that he would be doing a Hindi version of his 2005 Tamil film Annayan, starring Ranveer. He stated, “In this moment, no one will be happier than me, bringing back the larger than life cinematic experience with @ranveersingh in the official adaptation of cult blockbuster Anniyan.” However, since the filmmaker was accused of making the remake without his consent by the Tamil film’s producer, Aascar Ravichandran, a complaint was filed against him, and there have been no updates regarding the project.

Takht

A teaser clip for Karan Johar’s ambitious project Takt was published in 2020, one year prior to the announcement of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Ranveer, Alia, Vicky, Janhvi Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Anil Kapoor were among the epic ensemble cast members. However, the pandemic forced the project to be “temporarily” abandoned.
