Suriya’s recent film Retro seemed as the best surprise for fans who were anticipating the project since long. The story features Suriya as a local gangster named Paarivel Kannan infamously known as Paari. According to Sacnilk.com, the film minted ₹ 20 crore on day one in the domestic chains.
Retro box office collection
The trade outlet reported that Retro garnered ₹ 20.08 crore on its opening day, which subtly treads behind Suriya’s recent release Kanguva, which relished a whopping ₹22 crore net. Nonetheless, Retro enjoys a positive response and word-of-mouth, the collection is expected to get better in the coming days, especially during the weekend at the theaters.
Retro recorded an amazings 79.35% Tamil Occupancy on Thursday. For morning shows it was highlighted 75.91%, and for afternoon shows it was at 83.91%. The evening saw a decrease with 78.23% occupancy.
Retro also features Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, and Prakash Raj in important roles. Shriya Saran meanwhile appears in a special role. Retro is helmed by Karthik Subbaraj marking the maiden collaboration with Suriya.
