The actor made reference to the iconic and humorous phase of his character Ron Weasley’s life when he was asked to rehearse for the Yule Ball event in the film by Prof. Minerva McGonagall.

Grint added that working with the late actor was great “particularly lucky to have shared a dance.”

Even though Maggie Smith won over many fans in the television series, including Prof. McGonagall, the head of Gryffindor House and the deputy headmistress at Hogwarts under Albus Dumbledore, her other peers, or perhaps more accurately, co-stars, also expressed their grief in response to her passing.

The actor known by the public as Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe, used X (previously Twitter) to think back to when he first met Maggie Smith in 1999 while working on the TV miniseries David Copperfield.

He also recalled that although his parents considered themselves extremely fortunate to have their kid appear on TV alongside Smith, “the first thing I asked her when we met was ‘would you like me to call you Dame?’” he reminisced.

To which she had replied, “Don’t be ridiculous!”

Emma Watson, who portrayed Hermione Granger in the wizarding world, confessed on her Instagram Story that she was unaware of Maggie Smith’s legendary status when she was younger. Watson wrote, “a true definition of greatness.”
