Post 29 years of marriage, AR Rahman and Saira Banu have formally announced their separation.  Saira recently released a new statement in which she addressed the allegations circulating about her divorce.

On November 24, she issued an official voice tape and asked everyone to refrain from making unverified accusations against the musician. Saira said that she had spent the last few months in Bombay and gave an explanation for her absence from Chennai, stating that it was because of health concerns.

Saira stated, “I’m currently in Bombay. I’ve been physically unwell for the last couple of months. So that’s the reason I just wanted to take a break from AR, but I would request the entire YouTube YouTubers, the Tamil Media, please please do not say anything bad against him. He’s a gem of a person, the best man in the world.”

Hours after AR Rahman's divorce, bassist Mohini announces separation too

She also thanked AR Rahman for his assistance and acknowledged his hectic schedule in Chennai. She also responded to reports that he was linked to bassist Mohini Dey, saying, “He is not linked with anyone, I trust him with my life. That’s how much I love him, and that’s how much he does. So I kindly request you to stop all the false allegations against him, and God bless.”

Saira continued by stating that she would shortly return to Chennai following her medical treatment. Before ending her audio message, she thanked everyone and asked them to stop disparaging AR Rahman.

The Oscar-winning composer sent a legal warning a day ago to those who were spreading false information about him and his family. In a legal notification published on X, he cautioned media outlets, web portals, and YouTubers to cease falsifying about him and Saira.

In 1995, the pair exchanged vows in a private ceremony and are blessed with three children: Raheema, Ameen, and Khatija.
