Salman Khan has provided his statement in the Mumbai Police chargesheet pertaining to the shooting incident that occurred outside his residence. Salman claimed that in the early hours of April 14, while he was asleep at his Galaxy Apartments, he heard a sound similar to a firecracker, which suggested that there had been an attempt on his and his family members’ lives.
Salman’s allegation against Lawrence Bishnoi
By 4:55 a.m., the actor’s police bodyguard alerted him to the fact that two riders on a motorcycle had opened fire on the first-floor balcony. Salman went on to say that attempts had been made in the past to hurt him and his family. His bodyguard complained to the Bandra police station about the firing. He later found out that in a Facebook post, mobster Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi had admitted to and accepted responsibility for the attack.
The actor stated, “So, I believe that Lawrence Bishnoi, with the help of his gang members, carried out the firing incident when my family members were sleeping and (they were) planning to kill me and my family members.” He told police that he and his family had received several other threats in recent years.
Lawrence Bishnoi’s ultimatum to Salman Khan
A letter containing threats was found in 2022 on a bench across from Salman’s building. The actor claimed to have received a threat email in March 2023 from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He said that two anonymous people tried to break into his Panvel farmhouse in January 2024 by posing as other people.
Salman further mentioned that the police had filed a 1,735-page charge sheet earlier this month in the firing case before the special court for cases pertaining to the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act.
Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Anujkumar Thapan (who is now deceased), Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, and Harpal Singh are the people who have been arrested in connection with this case. After his arrest, Anujkumar is said to have killed himself while in police custody.
