According to sources, Hoshi and Woozi, members of the well-known K-pop group SEVENTEEN, will be setting a new subgroup as reported by the South Korean media site Daily Sports on December 25, 2024. This is the second time a boy band duo has teamed together, after Jeonghan and Wonwoo’s first solo album, This Man, which was out on June 17, 2024.
In the past, Hoshi and Woozi worked together on the duet song “Shoot Me Before You Go,” which was included on SEVENTEEN’s 2017 second full-length album, Teen, Age. The two were both born in 1996, and fans lovingly call them Soonhoon. Woozi, the voice team leader, and Hoshi, the performance team head, are both renowned for their outstanding musical abilities, therefore their new unit debut is eagerly awaited.
The K-pop star is also expected to continue working with the subunit BSS, aka BooSeokSoon. The subgroup, which consists of Hoshi, DK, and Seungkwan, is set to return in January 2025.
Other members includes S. Couples, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. The group made its debut with album 17 Carat, released by Pledis Entertainment in 2015.
On April 29, 2024, the group released the music video for the title tune, MAESTRO, off their compilation album, SEVENTEEN BEST ALBUM: “17 IS RIGHT HERE.” Additionally, the group became the first K-pop group in history to perform at the Glastonbury Festival in 2024 and were the main attraction at the Lollapalooza Festival, which was held in Germany on September 7 and 8, 2024.
