The actor added, “But I do have a gut feeling about the film going through the nominations.”

Nevertheless, Santosh is one of the 15 films that have made the short list for nomination in this category. For those who are curious as to why the film was selected as the UK’s submission rather than India’s, it is a multinational co-production of Germany, France, India, and the United Kingdom. As a result, the UK submitted it for an Oscar. The 38-year-old actress believes that India should be happy of the film’s nomination for an Oscar-like prize in spite of this.

“It’s about storytelling and diversity. It doesn’t matter where the film comes from, the story is still rooted in India,” Shahana stated.

The Zwigato actress expressed her opinion on the matter, saying she opposes segregation. Additionally, the film is being made by a sizable Indian team. As a result, the country has every cause to be proud of it. She added that it’s more thematic in nature rather than country-specific.
