Shanaya Kapoor to star in a dual role on SOTY 3; netizens are left divided

Shanaya bagged a movie with Abhay before her debut movie Tu Yaa Main premiered and is also bracing for Ankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan with Vikrant Massey.

Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, finally released a trailer for her debut movie earlier this month. The incredibly talented Adarsh Gourav, who collaborated with Shanaya’s childhood best friend Ananya Panday on Kho Gaye Hum Kahan (2023), will also star in the Aanand L Rai film Tua Yaa Main. With its promise of an exciting and terrifying roller coaster ride, the teaser catched the attention of the internet. According to recent rumors, she has already committed to two more projects, one of which involves her playing two roles.

A source shared as quoted by Hindustan Times, “This would be a bold move for Shanaya, allowing her to showcase her versatility right from her early films. Even though SOTY 3 will come out after her other releases, this could very well be her career highlight.”

Few actors would try playing two parts at such a young age. However, Shanaya Kapoor has accepted the challenge in the third standalone installment of Karan Johar’s Student of the Year franchise, according to a report published by Filmfare.

According to reports, the star will appear in SOTY 3 in two different avatars. In the past, the franchise has been fortunate to have a number of famous children, including Ananya Panday, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff, and Alia Bhatt. Rumors have it that Shanaya has landed a movie alongside Abhay Verma of Munjya fame.

A social media comment read, “The real underdog. We all underestimated her fate and overestimated Suhana’s,” another added, “Damn Shanaya whoever your agent is I hope you’re paying them well. It sounds like she’s doing work opposite good actors in better scripts. Naturally she’ll come across better than the other nepokids who did shit like Archie’s and nadaaniyan. Seems like she’ll benefit alot from her strategy.”Another internet user asserted, referring to her star cousins Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor, “So Shanaya seems to have watched, and watched and actually learned. She’s collecting ace co-stars like pokemon. Girl will out do her cousins.”
