On April 4, the eagerly awaited Korean crime thriller Karma is set to make its Netflix debut. The show focuses on people’s actions and the consequences of decisions that have unforeseen consequences. The show’s Korean title, 악연, describes the intertwined mess that the protagonists are expected to be a part of and literally translates to “ill-fated relationships.”

Kim Sung Kyun  plays Gilryong, Lee Kwang Soo plays Glasses, Shin Min Ah plays Juyeon, Lee Hee Jun plays the Debtor, Park Hae Soo  plays the Witness, and Gong Seung Yeon plays Yujeong. These six characters join an unassuming chain of events.

The drama, which spans six episodes, centers on a man whose unexpected decision puts five other people in a precarious situation and forces them to deal with it; as time passes, it becomes clear that someone must die to end this doomed situation; the show explores the possibilities in what turns out to be an increasingly haunting turn of events; their close relationships keep them from escaping the complexity they face, and ultimately force a dramatic showdown toward the end of the series.

Lee Il Hyung is the writer and director of the show, which promises an exciting run full of shocking revelations and a strengthened idea that everything you do has consequences.
