In 26 countries, including Korea, Brazil, Colombia, Honduras, and Hong Kong, the murder thriller secured the top spot in viewership just one day after its premiere. Bogota City Of The Lost Review: Song Joong-Ki's Film Falls Short Of Its Potential

The Song Joong Ki-starring film debuted on Netflix on February 4 and came in third place on its first day of availability. It was placed after Luca’s World, a biographical film about a patient with cerebral palsy, and Jamie Fox’s action comedy Back in Action. Bogotá experienced a spectacular spike in viewing on its second day, climbing the rankings and dislodging the two runner-ups. On its first day, Bogotá was 64 points behind the second-place finisher, but on February 5, it passed Back in Action with 15 points and Luca’s World by 223 points, according to FlixPatrol.

It ranked seventh in the US, ninth in the UK, and fourth in France and Germany for most-watched Netflix films. The film continued its impressive run on Netflix, taking the top spot globally for two days in a row, according to data from FlixPatrol as of February 6. The reception to Song Joong Ki’s domestic theatrical disaster, Bogotá, on OTT was entirely different, but in a good way. According to Korean media outlet Joy News 24, on the day of its OTT premiere, it shot to the top of the South Korean charts right after its release on Netflix.

The strong OTT viewing of the same film astounded the country that registered a low number of only 420,000 moviegoers. Bogotá, which was released at the end of last year, suffered a huge loss because its production cost was 12.5 billion Korean won.
