Garners handsome amount on Christmas Day
In its opening weekend in North America, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, co-produced and distributed by Paramount Pictures, made USD 62 million. Over the next two days, it gathered an additional USD 15.69 million. The film also brought in an additional USD 10.4 million on Christmas Day, bringing its total cume to USD 88 million at the North American box office. Because of the holidays and cheerful atmosphere, the animated film will continue to have amazing trends into the new year.
Aiming for USD 200 million
In domestic markets, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 outperforms Mufasa: The Lion King. When considering the franchise as a whole, the threequel received higher marks than Sonic the Hedgehog, the original game. In its first weekend of release, the 2020 movie brought in USD 58 million. However, the recently released movie was unable to outperform Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in terms of revenue. In its first weekend, the 2022 film brought in USD 72.1 million.
