After great anticipation, Suriya and Bobby Deol’s film Kanguva is scheduled to hit theaters on November 14, 2024. Unlike big Tamil releases earlier this year, it now appears that the movie will probably be available on OTT platforms just eight weeks following its theatrical debut.

Kanguva’s Hindi-dubbed version would be available at national multiplex chains like INOX, PVR, and others, according to a report by M9 News. This gives the film a lengthier run on the big screen by guaranteeing that it remains in cinemas for eight weeks before being released on OTT channels.

Major Tamil film releases in the past, such as Rajinikanth’s Vetaiyan and Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT, were taken off OTT services after only four weeks of release. Furthermore, it was stated that big multiplex chains did not distribute the Hindi versions of Vettaiyan and The GOAT, causing the platforms to violate the 8-week restriction.

According to a report by Her Zindagi, the Suriya movie will be available on Amazon Prime Video following its theatrical run, which is only a few hours away. Additionally, the report notes that the platform paid an astounding ₹100 crores to obtain the movie’s OTT rights.

According to reports, Kanguva tells the heroic tale of a tribal warrior who defended his people years ago. It also examines a relationship between the warrior and a contemporary shadow police officer, which is also portrayed by Suriya.

Alongside Suriya, Bobby Deol, who is making his Tamil film debut, plays the lead antagonist in Kanguva. Disha Patani, who is making her Tamil film debut, plays the lead role. Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Natarajan Subramaniam, Kovai Sarala, and others will play important roles in the movie.
