Taj Mahal fame Manoj Bharathiraja dies of a heart attack; actors and fans pays tribute

Famous for his roles in Samudhiram, Alli Arjuna, and Taj Mahal, actor Manoj Bharathiraja passed away in Chennai from a heart attack.
News18 received confirmation of the actor’s passing from his manager. Manoj was recovering at his Chetpet home after undergoing bypass surgery when he had a heart attack on Tuesday night.
He manager stated, “Manoj recently had a bypass surgery and was recuperating. However, he succumbed to a heart attack at his residence much to the shock of everyone. Bharathiraja Sir is on the way to his residence from Neelankarai. The funeral and other processions are yet to be decided”.
Manoj was survived by two daughters, Arshitha and Mathivathani, and wife, Ashwathi.
Khushbu Sundar wrote on X, “Extremely shocked to hear that Manoj is not among us anymore. His untimely demise pains. He was just 48 yrs. May God give the strength to his father Thiru #Bharathiraaja avl and his family to overcome this unbearable painful loss. You will be missed Manoj. Rest in peace. Om Shanthi.”
Manoj, who is the son of filmmaker Bharathiraja, made his feature film debut in Taj Mahal. Manoj has acted in movies like Varshamellam Vasantham, Samidhiram, and Allu Arjuna over the years. In the movie Enthiran, Manoj also served as Shankar’s assistant. He also starred in supporting roles in films like Viruman, Maanaadu, Eeswaran, and Champion.
