A woman who resembles Taylor Swift, Olivia Adamonis, has spoken out about the confusion that occurred at a Kansas City Chiefs game on Christmas, leading fans to assume the music sensation was present.
The 35-year-old singer frequently showed up to stadiums to see her boyfriend and his team play, and every time she did, fans and the media tried to lip read her every word.
According to a Page Six report, “If she is going to a place that isn’t Arrowhead [Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri], there are security concerns.”
The insider, who noted that she has worked with Arrowhead on multiple occasions, said that they are “easy and comfortable” and that it is required to send a team in advance to tour multiple stadiums.
The Chiefs’ first of two Christmas games versus the Pittsburgh Steelers was aired live on Netflix on December 25. Although Swift was not present at Pennsylvania’s Acrisure Stadium, some spectators noticed a Swift doppelgänger in the VIP section.
Social internet was ablaze with excitement after this, but it was allayed when Adamonis, the unidentified woman, revealed that she was not Swift.
In order to dispel the confusion, Adamonis, a TikTok creator who had never previously contributed on the platform, uploaded a video that received over 1.5 million views right away.
She reported how, while watching the game from a box seat with a friend, spectators started waving and taking pictures.
She clarified that the misconception was most likely caused by her hair and makeup, but she maintained that she wasn’t attempting to draw attention to herself. “I just waved back because I didn’t want to seem rude,” she said.
“I never expected this kind of reaction,” she added.
A fan wrote, “Immediately thought you looked like Taylor swift but I can’t pinpoint what it is.”
“I saw the picture and genuinely thought you were Taylor. Of all people to be mistaken for though that’s kinda cool. Hopefully it wasn’t too invasive for you,” another added.
