In a startling turn of events, Thalapathy Vijay has been embroiled in controversy after being seen organizing an Iftar gathering ahead of Eid 2025. The event “offended” the Muslim community, according to a News18 report.
Syed Ghous, the state treasurer of Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamaat, has reportedly lodged a complaint against the actor for allegedly offending the community and its feelings.
The complainant said, “Several people who have no connection to fasting and Islamic practices, including drunkards and rowdies, were present at the event.”
Such a practice, according to the complainant, is a disrespect to the sanctity of Iftar. Additionally, Syed Ghous blamed Thalapathy Vijay for the attendees’ disarray by neglecting to make the necessary preparations and for planning such actions, implying that they were only “politically motivated.”
He will be next seen in H Vinoth’s Jana Nayagan with Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde, which is billed as having political overtones.
It also stars Mamitha Baiju, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, in prominent roles.
