The Diplomat: John Abraham shares fan reviews; tout his performance as national-award worthy

John Abraham’s portrayal of J. P. Singh in The Diplomat, the Deputy High Commissioner of India in Pakistan, left the audience speechless. The actor discussed the film and the wonderful reviews he has received in an interview with Pinkvilla.
The Bollywood star talked about his passion for motorcycles, his challenges in the business, and everything else in the interview. Speaking about The Diplomat, the actor said that the crew told the story as truthfully as possible and used only 5% creative license.
“It is so correct. When you see the press conference in the end, you realize that these guys have shot such a blessed, honest film,” John stsaidated. He claimed, “People are telling me, ‘This should be a National Award film. What are we doing?’ And this is not me talking.”
The actor added, “This is the reaction after they walk out and this is the biggest consensus and reward I get is when people say ‘We clapped at the end of it’. That’s so beautiful and there is no bigger reward than that.”
The Diplomat is a political thriller directed by Shivam Nair, of Mukhbir: The Story of a Spy and Special OPS fame. Written by Ritesh Shah, it is based on the real-life experiences of JP Singh, an Indian ambassador. It stars Sadia Khateeb, Kumud Mishra, Sharib Hashmi, Revathy, Ashwath Bhatt, among others.
John will be next seen in Dinesh Vijans’s geopolitical thriller Tehran, starring Manushi Chhillar.
