In recent years, he has been quite busy, appearing in several high-profile movies in addition to continuing to play Spider-Man and swinging around New York. Pilgrimage
Holland plays the role of Brother Diarmuid in the 2017 Irish film Pilgrimage, which was directed by Brendan Muldowney. A group of monks are entrusted with moving holy relics throughout Ireland in the thirteenth century, when the story is set. But when they encounter Gaelic soldiers head-on, their quest turns dangerous.
In the Heart of the Sea
In the film In the Heart of the Sea, directed by Ron Howard, Tom Holland plays a young Thomas Nickerson. The film revolves around the American whaling ship Essex’s sinking, which served as Herman Melville’s inspiration for Moby-Dick. The story is told in flashbacks by an older Nickerson, played by Brendan Gleeson. A 14-year-old cabin boy in the movie played by Holland must overcome terrifying obstacles, like as cannibalism, in order to survive.
Edge of Winter
Tom Holland plays Bradley in Edge of Winter, costarring with Percy Hynes White as Caleb, in one of his most intense roles. Joel Kinnaman portrays Elliot, a mentally ill father who goes camping with his two sons. Elliot loses control of the expedition, and soon everything descends into mayhem.
Cherry
Tom Holland plays a a complex and dark role in Cherry, which is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. He portrays the title character, a combat veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who turns to bank robbery and heroin addiction as a result.
The Devil All the Time
Based on a novel by Donald Ray Pollock, Antonio Campos’ film The Devil All the Time explores themes of murder and corruption in mid-20th century America. Arvin Russell, a young guy attempting to defend his family in a corrupt community, is portrayed by Tom Holland.
Special Mention: Uncharted
Based on one of the most well-known video game franchises ever, Uncharted stars Tom Holland as young treasure hunter Nathan Drake. The film, which was directed by Ruben Fleischer, centers on Mark Wahlberg’s character Victor Sullivan, who was formerly Drake’s mentor but is now his partner in crime, as they quest for fabled riches. Notably, Uncharted marks Holland’s first experience working as an executive producer.
