Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma welcomed their second child into the world. On February 15, the couple made their baby boy’s arrival public. They have named the boy Akaay, Anushka announced on Instagram. “With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay and Vamika’s little brother into this world! We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time,” stated the post.
Ranveer Singh wrote, “♥️♥️♥️♥️.” Shweta Bachchan further wrote, “❤ Congratulations.”
Rumors circulated earlier that the actress would give birth to her child in London in a few days. It all began when businessman Harsh Goenka announced on his X handle that a kid was expected to be delivered in a few days. He wrote, not mentioning Anushka or Virat by name. “A new baby is to be born in the next few days! Hope the baby takes India to great heights like the greatest cricketing father. Or will it follow the mother and be a film star?”
“Anushka is expecting her second baby. Like the last time, they will formally share the news with the world at a later stage,” earlier a source quoted by the entertainment portal stated.
Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy allegations were later verified by AB De Villiers in January 2024 when he stated on his YouTube channel, “Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. Yes, we miss him, but he has made the right decision.”
In December 2017, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli tied the wedding. Following the release of her film Zero in 2018, the actress took a hiatus from performing. Vamika, the couple’s daughter, was then born in January 2021. Anushka hasn’t appeared in any movies since that time. Her return is planned for the sports drama Chakda Xpress. The actress has already completed filming, but the release date of the movie is yet unknown.
