Was Dhoom Dhaam initially planned with Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan? Aditya Dhar shares deets

Raat Baaki was finally shelved, despite rumors that Fawad would be replaced.

Viewers and critics had differing reviews on Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi’s recent film, Dhoom Dhaam. However did you know that Fawad Khan and Katrina Kaif were originally slated to act in the movie? This was acknowledged by the film’s director, Aditya Dhar, in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama.

At first, Aditya was supposed to make his big Bollywood debut in the Karan Johar-backed movie Raat Baaki, which starred Katrina and Fawad. Reports claims that industry insiders observed a striking similarity between Dhoom Dhaam and Raat Baaki.

Aditya verified, “That’s true. It’s the same story. But we tweaked it a little bit. We made it contemporary and a story of today’s times.”

In 2016, Raat Baaki was supposed to go on floors. However, actors from the other side of the border were prohibited from appearing in Bollywood films post the Pulwama attack.

Pratik Gandhi and Yami Gautam starred in the romantic comedy Dhoom Dhaam. The film, which was directed by Rishabh Seth and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under the production companies of Jio Studios and B62 Studios, is about a newlywed couple who are forced to flee on their wedding night.

Aditya is currently working on Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh in the pivotal role. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. Ranveer shared his excitement in a statement: “This one is for my fans, who have been so patient with me and clamouring for a turn like this… I promise you, this time, a cinematic experience like never before. With your blessings, we embark on this great, big motion picture adventure with spirited energy and pure intent. This time, it’s personal.”
