Rahat was reportedly detained at the Dubai airport earlier in the day following multiple complaints made against him by Salman Ahmed, his former manager.

Rahat was reportedly detained in Dubai on Monday due to a defamation lawsuit filed by his former manager, according to Geo TV, which claimed the singer was there for a musical partnership. A few months prior, Rahat had fired his manager due to an argument. Following that, the two had issued lawsuits against one another.

The controversy surrounding Rahat began earlier this year when a video purportedly showing him slapping someone went viral on social media. Rahat was seen repeatedly hitting and slapping the man, who he later identified as his protege Naveed Hasnain, with a slipper while asking, “Where is my bottle?”
