Who is Carmen? Know about the new Indonesian sensation from Hearts2Hearts

Carmen, the Indonesian member of Hearts2Hearts, SM Entertainment’s recently launched female group has gained traction across social media. Her talent and aesthetics have drawn the interest of both Korean and international viewers. Carmen, who was born and bred in Indonesia, became the first Indonesian singer to make their debut under SM Entertainment on February 24, 2025. Her ability to communicate with a global audience and her fluency in Korean have won over her fans.
Carmen goes by the name Nyoman Ayu Carmenita. Born in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia, on March 28, 2006, she is the oldest member of Hearts2Hearts. Fans have discovered that she finished high school at SMA Kristen Harapan Denpasar in Indonesia.
She joined the company in 2022, marking the beginning of her kpop journey. This 18-year-old is also known for her proficiency on the piano. According to The Korea Times, she dazzled the judges with her rendition of Daniel Caesar’s “Best Part” at her first audition. As per Carmen, she is the group’s sunshine.
Carmen talked about her early aspirations to become a K-pop idol during their media appearance at Seoul’s YES24 Live Hall. She revealed how she first became interested in K-pop after seeing Girls’ Generation sing The Boys. “I thought they were so cool and wanted to be like them,” this artist added.
Hearts2Hearts includes Jiwoo, Carmen, Yuha, Stella, Juun, A Na, Ian, and Ye On.
They launched a two-track CD, The Chase, along with a second single, Butterflies, as their debut work. Butterflies provides a melodic, harmony-driven counterpoint to The Chase, which is characterized as a lighthearted anthem influenced by the Alice in Wonderland universe. The group’s debut also happens to be the same as that of Starship Entertainment’s new girl group, KiiKii.
