Bangladeshi pacer Ebadot Hossain ruled out of World Cup Due to knee injury
Bangladesh’s hopes for the upcoming World Cup have been dealt a significant blow as pace bowler Ebadot Hossain has been confirmed to miss the tournament due to a knee injury. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official stated that Ebadot’s knee injury necessitates an operation, which will sideline him for at least three to four months.
Ebadot’s absence in the World Cup was confirmed by BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin, who expressed the disappointment of losing a crucial player. The 29-year-old fast bowler sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during an ODI series against Afghanistan last month.
His absence changes the dynamics of Bangladesh’s bowling attack, as Ebadot played a pivotal role in the middle overs, allowing Taskin Ahmed to operate with the new ball. Ebadot’s pace and effectiveness in the middle overs will be a challenge to replace. Tanzim Sakib has been named as Ebadot’s replacement for the upcoming Asia Cup.
Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha and ODI captain Shakib al Hasan expressed their disappointment at losing Ebadot, highlighting his impact on the team’s performance. Ebadot’s ability to take wickets in crucial phases of the game will be sorely missed, and the team will need to find suitable alternatives to fill his role effectively.
With the World Cup approaching, the pressure is on Bangladesh’s bowling lineup to adapt and find ways to maintain their competitive edge without Ebadot. Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Shoriful Islam are among the options to fill the gap left by Ebadot’s absence, and the team’s performance in the tournament will depend on their ability to step up and deliver in crucial moments.
