Brazil scored a late equaliser to secure an entertaining 3-3 friendly draw with Spain on Tuesday, with teenagers Lamine Yamal and Endrick shining. Lucas Paqueta scored a stoppage-time penalty to deny La Roja victory at the Santiago Bernabeu after the hosts took a late lead.

In a thrilling match played under a closed roof in the Spanish capital, Spain’s captain Rodri scored two heavily debated penalties.

After Dani Olmo’s excellent individual goal boosted Spain’s advantage, the Manchester City midfielder opened the scoring in the 12th minute from the penalty spot following Yamal’s fall in the box.

A mistake by Spain goalkeeper Unai Simon allowed Rodrygo to equalize before halftime, and Endrick, on as a substitute, brought Brazil level five minutes later. Rodri converted his second penalty late on when Dani Carvajal was clipped by Lucas Beraldo, but Paqueta had the final say.

The match proved to be a thrilling contest between two of football’s heavyweight nations. It was organized to help fight racism following many cases of abuse targeted at Real Madrid and Brazil winger Vinicius Junior in Spain.

For the first time, Vinicius led Brazil, but he was mainly kept under wraps while Endrick, his teen countryman and future Los Blancos teammate, and Barcelona youngster Yamal continued to enjoy the spotlight.

Spain thought they had won when Rodri converted his second penalty in the final stages after Carvajal collided with Beraldo, but Brazil refused to give up.

Deep into stoppage time, the visitors got their penalty. Paqueta, who had previously been lucky to avoid a penalty for flailing an arm at Marc Cucurella, sent Simon the wrong way with almost the final kick to equalise.
