In a pivotal moment during the IPL 2024 clash, GT’s bowler Darshan Nalkande delivered a crucial blow to the opposition as he dismissed the well-set batsman KL Rahul, caught by Rahul Tewatia. The dismissal came as a result of a mistimed shot by Rahul, prompting commentator Ian Bishop to humorously remark, “Power failure,” on air.
The delivery from Nalkande was pitched up, enticing Rahul to go for an attacking stroke. Rahul opted to take the aerial route, aiming towards long-on, but his shot lacked the necessary timing and power. As a result, the ball failed to clear the boundary and ended up safely in the hands of Rahul Tewatia stationed at long-on.
After a brilliant knock that saw him score 33 runs off of 31 deliveries, including three boundaries, KL Rahul was dismissed. Darshan Nalkande claimed a vital wicket for his side with it, impeding the opposition’s momentum and tipping the scales in favour of the Gujarat Titans.
