In the ongoing match at the iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants, the visitors were put into bat first by skipper Faf du Plessis, aiming for their second win of the season.
During the first 4 overs, Captain Faf introduced 4 different bowlers, a surprising tactic given the early stage of the game, suggesting RCB’s eagerness to secure a wicket.
Reece Topley, part of today’s playing XI, opened the bowling alongside Yash Dayal, with Mohammed Siraj initially left out despite his favorable statistics against LSG opener Quinton de Kock.
De Kock has faced RCB in 11 matches, scoring 371 runs at an average of 33.72 and a strike rate of 142.14, including one century and two fifties, with his best score of 108 coming in 2016.
However, when Siraj was introduced in the third over, de Kock countered effectively, hitting consecutive sixes, challenging the prior statistics. In the fourth over, Glenn Maxwell was brought in as RCB continued their search for a breakthrough, yet his over also concluded without a wicket.
