IPL 2024: Suryakumar Yadav set to join Mumbai Indians on April 5

In a major boost for the Mumbai Indians team, Suryakumar Yadav is set to feature in the IPL 2024 very soon. Cricbuzz has learned that the No.1 ranked T20I batter has been cleared by the National Cricket Academy and will join the Mumbai Indians squad on Friday (April 5).

Suryakumar Yadav last played competitive cricket in December 2023 when he scored a century against South Africa in the third T20I. However, during that series, he suffered a grade 2 tear of his ankle, which required surgery.

Additionally, Suryakumar underwent an operation for a sports hernia, further delaying his return to cricket as he continued his rehabilitation at the NCA facility in Bengaluru.

The 33-year-old will link up with the Mumbai Indians team during their practice session at the Wankhede stadium as they prepare for their next home game against Delhi Capitals, an afternoon match scheduled for April 7.

The team management will take a call on his participation based on his fitness assessment during the net session.
