Delhi Capitals have secured the services of South African fast bowler Lizaad Williams as a replacement for Harry Brook, who withdrew from IPL 2024 due to his grandmother’s demise.
Williams will make his IPL debut with the Capitals, having signed him for a base price of INR 50 lakh. The Capitals’ pace group, which also comprises Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Jhye Richardson, and Mukesh Kumar, would be strengthened by his inclusion. In addition, Mitchell Marsh and Sumit Kumar, two pace-bowling all-round players, are on the team.
The franchise had earlier included Lungi Ngidi in their squad, but he withdrew from the tournament due to ongoing recovery from a lower-back injury sustained during the SA20 earlier this year.
