During Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2024 clash against Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7, Rohit Sharma etched his name in the record books by becoming the fourth player to achieve 100 catches in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The veteran cricketer achieved this milestone in his 247th match by taking Jhye Richardson’s catch off Gerald Coetzee.

Rohit Sharma’s accomplishment adds another remarkable achievement to his illustrious career, showcasing his prowess as a fielder in addition to his batting skills. The 36-year-old’s consistency and agility on the field have played a significant role in Mumbai Indians’ success over the years.

Meanwhile, leading the list of most catches in IPL is Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Virat Kohli, who boasts an impressive tally of 110 catches in 242 matches. Following Kohli closely is former Chennai Super Kings star Suresh Raina, with 109 catches in 205 matches, and Kieron Pollard, who has 103 catches in 189 games.

In the same match, Mumbai Indians’ premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah achieved a historic milestone by securing his 150th wicket in IPL, becoming the first Indian cricketer to achieve this feat for a single IPL franchise. Bumrah, who has been an integral part of Mumbai Indians since 2013, reached this milestone in 124 games.

The Ahmedabad-born fast bowler showcased his bowling prowess in the match against Delhi Capitals, finishing with impressive figures of 2/22 in four overs, maintaining an economy rate of just 5.50. Bumrah’s exceptional performance included dismissing Prithvi Shaw and Abhishek Porel, highlighting his crucial role in Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack.
