New Zealand defeated Pakistan in their first T20I match, winning by 46 runs and taking a 1-0 lead in the series. The match took place at Eden Park and was the first of five T20Is against Pakistan. Daryl Mitchell blasted 61 off 27 balls, and Kane Williamson scored 57 off 42, while opener Finn Allen struck 34 runs off the third over, bowled by Pakistan captain Shaheen Shah Afridi.
