Currently representing Mumbai in the IPL, Rohit Sharma is set to lead India in the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA. During a candid conversation with renowned comedian Kapil Sharma on Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show, India captain Rohit Sharma amusingly revealed two teammates he wouldn’t want to room with. Rohit, alongside Shreyas Iyer, engaged in light-hearted banter with the host.
“Everyone gets a single room nowadays. But if I get a chance to share a single room, there are two people with whom I wouldn’t want to share rooms with – Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant. Bade gande hai (They are very messy). After practice, they just toss their clothes on the bed,” said Rohit.
He playfully mentioned that he’d avoid sharing a room with PBKS captain Shikhar Dhawan and DC skipper Rishabh Pant, labeling them as untidy. Despite having shared the locker room with both players during their time in the Indian team, Rohit joked about their messy habits, citing how their rooms often remained unclean for days.
“Their room is always on DND because they sleep till 1PM. The housekeeping staff that comes in the morning to clean their rooms, so it’s important for them to put their rooms on DND. Otherwise, they will barge in. That’s why their rooms often stay messy for three to four days. It becomes a problem for the people staying around them. So, I don’t think I will be able to stay with them,” Rohit added.
The light-hearted conversation provided a glimpse into the camaraderie and banter among the Indian cricket team members. While Rohit’s focus will be on leading India in the upcoming T20 World Cup, his playful remarks about his teammates’ untidy habits added a touch of humor to the conversation.
