Sophie Molineux has made an impressive comeback across formats to reclaim her place on Cricket Australia’s central contract list.

After spending a considerable amount of time on the sidelines due to a number of injuries, including an ACL injury, Molineux, who was removed from the list two years ago, has demonstrated her abilities in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is during the last two months. Her recent success led to an increase to a contract prior to the announcement of the 17-person 2024–25 group.

Making her comeback in the Test against South Africa in Perth, Molineux displayed her prowess, earning the Player of the Series title in the T20Is against Bangladesh. She took six wickets at an impressive average of 8.33 during the series. Additionally, she made a notable impact in the ODI side, claiming 3 for 10 on her return.

Despite Molineux’s stellar comeback, experienced player Jess Jonassen has retained her contract. Jonassen, who has been absent from the squad since the tour of India last December, remains a significant part of the team.
