Suryakumar Yadav declared fit for Mumbai Indians’ next IPL match

Exciting news for Mumbai Indians fans as their star batsman, Suryakumar Yadav, has been declared match fit for the upcoming clash against Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. This development comes as a massive boost for the team, as Yadav’s return is eagerly awaited.

According to reports from the Indian Express, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has given Yadav the green light after declaring him fit to play. The decision was made after thorough assessments by both BCCI and NCA physios, who didn’t want to take any risks with Yadav’s fitness.

Despite being the top-ranked T20I batsman by the ICC, Yadav had missed the first three matches of the IPL 2024 season due to fitness concerns. The team’s management opted to prioritize his recovery to ensure he returns fully fit and ready to contribute to their campaign.

A source within the BCCI revealed, “He is fit now. The NCA made him play a few practice games and he looked good. He can join the Mumbai Indians team. We wanted to be sure that when Surya goes back to MI, he is 100 percent fit and ready to play games. He wasn’t feeling 100% during his first fitness Test before the IPL, so we waited to see if there was any pain while he was batting.”

Yadav’s return is anticipated to bolster Mumbai Indians’ batting lineup, adding depth and firepower as they seek to turn their fortunes around in the IPL 2024 season. Fans eagerly await his performance on the field as he aims to make a significant impact for his team.
