The Tata Group, through Tata Motors, felicitated the Indian Women’s Cricket Team following their victory at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. The ceremony was held at Bombay House on December 16, 2025.
During the event, Tata Motors announced that each player and support staff member of the world cup–winning team will be gifted a Tata Sierra, the company’s recently unveiled model.
Senior Tata Group leaders including N. Chandrasekaran and Shailesh Chandra attended the ceremony. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Chandrasekaran said, “Just as July 1983 became a defining moment for a generation, November 2, 2025 will be remembered as the day the Indian women’s team claimed their World Cup. They played with passion, resilience and collective excellence, inspiring a new generation to dream big and persist. We are delighted that Tata Motors will recognise our champion cricketers and their support staff with a Tata Sierra, and we wish them the very best for their next challenge.”
Tata Motors added that players would have the option to select the Sierra variant of their choice.
