Ashok Leyland has inaugurated its newest integrated commercial vehicle manufacturing plant in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, focused on clean and sustainable mobility solutions. The inauguration was attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and Heavy Industries Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy.
Situated near Lucknow Airport at Sarojini Nagar Industrial Area, the 70-acre facility is designed as Ashok Leyland’s most sustainable and technologically advanced plant worldwide. The plant is primarily dedicated to electric vehicle manufacturing, with an annual production capacity of up to 5,000 vehicles.
Senior government officials, diplomats, industry leaders, Ashok Leyland’s dealers and suppliers, and Hinduja Group leadership attended the ceremony. The facility emphasizes local employment, with most workers drawn from Uttar Pradesh, including a strong participation of women.

The plant incorporates rooftop solar panels, LED lighting, battery-powered internal logistics, and zero-discharge water systems.
