GCPL unveils digital film advocating disability inclusion across workplaces

In recognition of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) has released a digital film showcasing the role of employees with disabilities within its operations and reiterating that disability inclusion is essential for modern organisations. The film features real employees from GCPL’s Tamil Nadu greenfield plant, highlighting accessible work environments and inclusive processes.

Scenes from the shop floor show ISL usage, accessible workstation layouts and coordinated work across mixed-ability teams. MD & CEO Sudhir Sitapati said GCPL’s progress in hiring PwDs is now being complemented by external initiatives such as consumer panels and collaborations with disability-sector organisations. He noted that people with disabilities form a significant part of India and companies must design products suitable for all.

HR Head Vaibhav Ram said GCPL has 1% PwD representation today and aims to increase this across roles and locations. He said the film reinforces the importance of disability inclusion and referenced the ‘Work That Includes’ Toolkit launched with Atypical Advantage and Integrative Solutions to support industry-wide progress.

GCPL said its inclusion efforts extend to women, LGBTQIA+ communities and more. Factories such as Malanpur and Chengalpattu showcase accessible layouts, job mapping, ISL support and training frameworks. The company added that inclusion spans recruitment, infrastructure, product development and community outreach.
