New Pepperfry factory outlet in Pune puts sofas at the centre of shopping experience

Buying a sofa just got more hands-on in Pune. Pepperfry has opened its first factory outlet in India in the city, taking its total store count here to six.

Unlike a standard furniture store, the new outlet is designed as a living room lounge where customers can try out sofas, check comfort levels and compare materials in person. The idea is simple—help buyers experience the product before committing.

The store features a wide range of sofa options and also allows customers to customise designs, fabrics and configurations based on their home requirements.

According to the company, the factory outlet format aims to make a larger product range more accessible while improving the overall buying experience.

Commenting on the launch, Ashish Shah, Founder and CEO of Pepperfry, said:
“Pune has been one of our strongest growth markets, and we are excited to introduce our first factory outlet in India with this launch. This is just the beginning — we are aggressively expanding our footprint across geographies to bring Pepperfry closer to our customers. With this new format, we aim to create a more immersive buying experience, where customers can engage with our products — from comfort to fabric and customization — before making a decision.”

Pune remains one of Pepperfry’s strongest markets, and the company is continuing to invest in the city as it expands its offline presence alongside its digital platform.
