Rallis India Introduces ‘Idea2Impact™’ to Scale Scientific and Field-Led Farm Innovations

Rallis India Limited has launched Idea2Impact™, a structured open innovation ecosystem designed to accelerate the development and scaling of farmer-first agricultural solutions through collaboration with external stakeholders.

The initiative brings together farmers, researchers, startups, academic institutions, and small enterprises by offering access to Rallis’ scientific capabilities, R&D infrastructure, testing and validation facilities, and extensive pan-India distribution reach.

Rallis stated that Indian agriculture is facing heightened complexity due to climate variability, sustainability expectations, regulatory changes, and evolving farmer requirements. The company believes these challenges require innovation models that go beyond organisational boundaries and are rooted in strong science and real-world application.

The Idea2Impact™ platform follows a milestone-driven governance framework covering confidentiality, evaluation, development, and value-sharing. Innovations may advance through laboratory research, greenhouse testing, multi-location field trials, piloting, and possible commercialization, supported by defined intellectual property ownership and royalty structures.

Dr. Gyanendra Shukla, Managing Director & CEO, Rallis India Limited, said, “At Rallis, we believe that meaningful agricultural innovation emerges when strong science is combined with fresh ideas and real field experience. Idea2Impact™ is our way of opening up Rallis’ capabilities to the wider ecosystem, while maintaining the highest standards of governance, transparency, and scientific rigor. This platform will help us work more closely with innovators to develop solutions that deliver real value to farmers and contribute to the long-term sustainability of Indian agriculture.”

The ecosystem will focus on seeds and trait innovation, biological and sustainable solutions, crop protection, soil health, digital and precision agriculture, and climate and water resilience, aligned with the company’s long-term growth strategy.
